Northern Illinois University
The Northern Illinois University (NIU), is a public university founded in 1895. Programs are offered on a semester basis through the Colleges of Business, Education, Engineering and Engineering Technology, Health and Human Sciences, Liberal Arts and Sciences, and Visual and Performing Arts. It features a 755-acre campus and is geographically located in DeKalb, sixty-five miles to the west of Chicago.
Northern Illinois University has roughly 18,00 undergraduate and 6,300 graduate students enrolled. It features the largest medical school in the country.
The tuition and fees for attending UIC campuses are: In-state: $9,300, and Out-of-state: $21,700. Because of this expense, there are some students who may need help financially to pay for college.
